SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. (SGMW) is one of the leading mini vehicles manufacturers in China. It is a joint venture established by three partners: Shanghai Automobile Industry (Group) Company, 50.1%; General Motors, 34%; and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., 15.9%.

SGMW specializes in manufacturing light duty mini vehicles, including mini single cab pickups, mini double cab pickups, mini commercial vans, and mini passenger's cars. It covers 892,000 square meters with more than 7,000 employees. There are modern production workshops in east and west manufacturing plants: press, body, paint and general assembly. Our new power train plant, a world class one, will be put into production in the year 2007. We have established the SGMW Qingdao Branch in Shandong Province, which will greatly advance our production capacity.

SGMW has the national-level technical development center, PhD scientific research base, and have implemented C3P (CAD/CAE/CAM/PDM) automobile development technology research projects. SGMW has an engineering design team of more than 300 engineers. It obtains vehicle development resources from PATAC Auto Research Center, being able to develop 1 model of vehicle within 2 years.

In 2005, both of SGMW's production and sales volume exceeded 337,000 units. Wuling now takes over 30% of the mini vehicle market in China. Wuling vehicles have been exported to more than 30 countries and regions, such as Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Middle East, South Africa, and West Europe.
